Cars Repo – Buying At Governement Auctions

Its a sure guarantee that when buying used cars, buying repossessed vehicles from government auctions is gonna get you a much better deal. The reason is because vehicles at these auctions are put up for sale at 40 to 70% off their original asking price!

The trucks, SUVs, etc that are now under the control of the government are there because their previous owners were either involved in criminal events or their money was illegally owned. When the cars are first repossessed a public garage houses them until the cases have been settled. Should the case go against the favor of the previous owner the vehicle in question goes to auction.

Mostly it is the private auction houses that the government asks to sell the cars for them. Members of the public then have the right to purchase these cars at very discounted prices.

Unfortunately trying to find these auctions on the web can prove hard. The police will not simply give you a list of all the places of the seized cars. When trying to locate these seized cars yourself and not use an online searching guide, whats required is visits to the auction houses and research.

As these auction houses dont tend to advertise seized vehicles you could try calling any numbers you find in your local yellow pages directory. To find out which ones handle seized vehicles check with them when you are speaking with them on the phone.

Visit their office after you find out the ones that do.

At their office look through the listings of government auctions of the repossessed cars. That way you can shorten the list to the vehicles that you are wanting to take a look at. Try to get as much information as you can on your initial visit.

This will include asking what documents you will need to present. Also, how much cash you will need if you do win a bid plus any specifics like the dates and times of auctions. Before attending an auction to actually bid on a car its a good idea to go as an observer first if you can.

Being a spectator before trying the bidding process gives you a good start to how everything works.

Last of all, practice restraint. Auctions especially can have a highly competitive mood, creating a lot of adrenaline within participants. Therefore, if the bidding price gets higher than you would like to pay, back off as there will always be more!

If you take a look at our site you can see a link to a guide with all US auctions available of seized cars including all auction times and dates.

The guide will tell you about offline and online auctions.

A Car GPS Is Great, But The Surveys Are Exasperating

This writer once lived in the woods in England for over 3 years. Although I still listen to the radio from time to time, I tended to ignore the vast changes going on in the real world. I originally heard the alphabet soup term "GPS" while I was still living in America, but always in the area of an army or massive law enforcement or rescue agency. If I heard about a automotive GPS in a radio advertisements, I never knew what they were talking about, and did not care to find out.

Welcome (Back) To America

Moving back to America, I was in for a severe culture shock. I evaded watching television so long as I could, but my mum ( who took her wayward kid in ) loved it, so the TV was on all the time. I might practically pound my head against the floor just because I couldn't understand the commercials. My Mom had to help me understand what "bling" meant. That was a touch bit humbling.

At the time, I took PC lessons and attempted to get my head together. I definitely needed a automotive GPS to figure out what I was doing. As a lark, I joined many online survey groups. I started getting free samples, and learned what a car GPS was. I didn't have much of a choice I was getting 2 or three automotive GPS surveys a week.

Back In The Saddle Again

I found out that instead of being bothered by geeky lingo, auto GPS dashboard mounted devices were useful and easily comprehensible gizmos that might help improve the standard of life. Imagine if the kids of Israel had automobile GPS units strapped to their donkeys and camels.

They would not have wandered around in the desert for forty years. They would've found the best route to The promised Land before dinner.

People of my generation and younger get so easily lost because it is too dangerous to go anywhere. Whenever we plan a trip, we have to allow at least 3 hours to get lost and then find our way again. Think about the waste of gas.

But with an automobile GPS unit, you don't have to waste gas or time to get to your destination. I wonder how much gas is saved just by using auto GPS units.

If I return to the woods, I suspect I'll take a car GPS device with me. Perhaps then I could make better calls about my life.

Remote Controlled Toys: Some Great Tips For Purchasing Them

Kids have always gotten enjoyment from pushing a button or holding down a lever and watching their remote controlled toys race through the house on its own. Today, the excitement has captured children of all ages and grown adults as well because they will do flips, climb walls, sail over water, and fly in the air. Obviously, this is one constantly changing industry that will never go out of business.

Yet, with a growing market packed with different toys comes a few technical details that have to be considered before you make a purchase. You have to think through what is going to make your children or that child-like adult in your life happy in the long term.

The most obvious consideration is what type of remote controlled toy would be of the most interest to the person you are shopping for. It used to be rather simple to select from different colored cars that pretty much looked alike, but today there are more options. You can now purchase trucks of all makes and sizes, airplanes, boats that really sail through water, and helicopters that fly through the air.

You also have to think about how big you want your toy to be, which really brings your price range into question as well. You can still get smaller scale toys, but today's market is all about bigger models that resemble the real vehicles more closely. Of course, you can expect to pay more for these larger models.

Going along with price and size is the consideration of power. Some larger models can be quite powerful, which brings up the issue of the battery life. While battery technology has come a long way, it is still not as efficient as many children would desire.

Larger sized toys are going to require more power to operate, which means they will have larger batteries that tend not to last very long before needing charged. It is not uncommon for these toys to charge for days just to get 15 minutes of actual use.

This is the reason most parents leave the larger models for older children who want them more as collector's items or decorations than actual use. Smaller children are better suited to smaller toys with less power anyway.

As a final note on the current market for remote controlled toys, it is important to realize that these toys have gone up in price over the years but for very good reason. It used to be that remote controlled vehicles had wires attaching the remote to the actual car. Now, most are completely wireless and travel at much higher speeds.
